Hello all! We are Nia and Nard and we’re a family of three living Vanlife in a Class C FULLTIME!

Originally we’re from Philadelphia Pa, Nia is Puerto Rican and Nard is Trinidadian. We met in 2011, traveled to Dominican Republic for a pre honeymoon, got married in 2012, Nard shipped off to basic training 13 days after, and we had our precious bundle of joy a couple months later. (I know what you’re thinking. “Dang y’all moved fast”, yes, yes we did.

Nard was a soldier in the army and we were stationed in Germany shortly after his graduation. Nia had to halt her education towards becoming a nurse because of how fast everything went. But that didn’t stop our traveling. Because Nard was injured we didn’t get to venture out as far as we’d like but we still saw many amazing places. In 2014 we received news that Nard would be kicked out because of his substantial weight gain (caused by his lack of mobility) and returned to Philadelphia.

He received a job in Virginia and then we moved there from 2015 to 2020. While there we went on cruises to Jamaica, Cayman Islands, and Bahamas. But once again life hit and Nard was unrightfully fired in 2018. While he continued his education and Nia remained a stay at home mom, we wanted to move but didn’t know where and we so missed traveling

In 2018, Nia fell in love with watching HGTV and home renovations. When deciding we would live in a house but couldn’t figure out where, we left it alone for some time. In the beginning of 2019, Nia came across tiny homes and tried showing Nard again, but he refused instead suggesting an RV, Nia turned down the idea assuming it wouldn’t satisfy her dream. (She honestly didn’t know what they looked like inside.)

Summer of 2019, Nia was watching a tiny homes episode and saw an RV being featured. She began looking into them and started warming up to the idea of traveling in one. We considered Van life because it was more popularly vlogged on YouTube and watched many Vanlifers. By the end of 2019, We decided to go to the dealership just to scope the vehicles and ended seeing a 2010 Ford Winds Class C RV and Nia was head over heels for Windy (That’s what we named her, our daughter’s idea, haha). And we got it!!!!

We intended to start traveling but COVID 19 stopped our plans quickly. We are still full time rvers but we’re waiting until it’s safer to travel with the virus and brutality against blacks happening (we do have a child to protect ). We have so many plans and have been renovating our home. We have a plan of heading out by the first of October after we’re finished renovating and we’ll be vlogging every moment!!
