What is Home On Wheels Alliance and how did this organisation come to life?

Homes On Wheels Alliance, Inc. (HOWA), a charitable 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, strives to help a significant portion of the American population who are being squeezed between the rapidly rising cost of shelter on one hand, and either stagnant wages or too-small of a retirement on the other. Through no fault of their own, they are at serious risk of losing their homes and apartments

Can you share a couple of examples how it has helped people in need?

We have 3 specific programs that help the nomadic community.

1. The Nomad Emergency Fund - provides financial assistance toward vehicle repairs.

2. Caravans - The Caravans provide a place to camp with other nomads year around. Participants typically find informal opportunities to learn and practice their new mobile-living skills, make friends, and have fun. The usual pattern for a Caravan Group is to camp on Public Land for 14 days, then move to camp at another place for 14 days, and so forth.

3. Vehicle build-outs - HOWA purchases, builds, and donates complete vehicles for those who do not yet have a home on wheels.

What are some exciting things happening in the upcoming future for your organisation?

Over The next 2 weeks we will be building out 4 vehicles for nomads in need.  The first week of November we will be giving away 40 complete solar panel kits in Quartzsite Arizona.
